Verona to Florence by train (Frecciargento or Italo)
There are several fast trains from Verona to Florence each day, taking just 1 hr 30 mins for the journey. The journey to Florence south to Bologna has views over the soft, expansive landscapes of the floodplain of the River Po. The second part of the journey beyond Bologna is a real contrast, however, as most of this section is in tunnels.
The number of direct services varies from eight to eleven depending on the day of the week and season. Bookings for this route open four months in advance, and that's when you'll find the cheapest tickets.

Verona to Florence
All fast trains to Florence leave from Verona’s centrally located Porta Nuova station. The direct Frecciargento services make just one stop along the way, at Bologna Centrale, and arrive in Florence at Campo di Marte station on the eastern fringes of the city centre. Italo trains from Verona run to Santa Maria Novella station in Florence. Note that additional services from Verona, which require a change of train at Bologna, also arrive at Florence Santa Maria Novella.
