Munich to Venice by train (EuroCity)
Take a comfortable daytime Austrian EuroCity train from Munich to Venice. It is the best way to travel between the two cities and you’ll see some great scenery along the way. There is one direct daily EuroCity service on this route, plus an extra service on weekend days from late March to early November.
If the timings of the direct trains don’t fit your schedule, there are a number of other daytime options that require one easy change of train in Verona. That change adds slightly to the journey time but otherwise the details of the route are the same. There is also a direct overnight train from Munich to Venice. But, with so much good scenery on this route, it's worth it to take a daytime train if you can.

Munich to Venice
Direct daytime EuroCity trains from Munich to Venice leave from Munich Hauptbahnhof and then also stop at München Ost about 9 minutes later. You have a choice of two stations to alight in Venice: Mestre and Santa Lucia. The latter, located right by the Grand Canal, is much more convenient for the heart of the city. The direct trains from Munich to Venice make 13 intermediate stops between the two cities. The main cities along the way are Innsbruck, Bolzano, Verona and Padua.
