Taking the Train from Berlin
All trains from Berlin to Hamburg depart from Berlin's Hauptbahnhof. The station is located in the centre of the city and is well connected to other parts of the city such as Alexanderplatz via the S-Bahn rail network. There is also a U-Bahn Metro system which provides access to areas outside the centre. An Airport Express also links the Hauptbahnhof to Schönefeld Airport, and the journey takes half an hour while an Express Bus links the station to Tegel Airport.
Getting into Hamburg by Train
Hamburg is thought of as one of the most bohemian, youthful and free-spirited cities in Europe, with a thriving nightlife, sporting attractions and artistic scene. Favourite attractions include the classy harbour district, the raucous Reeperbahn and the historic warehouse area.
The massive Hamburg Hauptbahnhof is Germany's busiest station and is right at the heart of Hamburg. It is well connected to all parts of the city via the S-Bahn and U-Bahn, which pass through it. Buses also operate regular services from the station and run until 12:30 am on weekdays. However, at weekends, the buses run throughout the night.
